Is The War Over? was a compilation of 8 local Cardiff
bands. Young Marble Giants contributed "Ode to Booker T."
and an early version of "Searching for Mr. Right." Reptile Ranch
included Spike, later of Weekend and Alison Statton & Spike. Beaver
featured Dave Dearnaley, who later played on Colossal
Youth's "Include Me Out." All tracks were recorded live at the Grass Roots
Coffee Bar at 58 Charles St., Cardiff. The back cover says "IT WAS EASY, IT WAS
CHEAP, YOUR TURN NEXT," referencing both the Desperate Bicycles and the still-new DIY
zeitgeist.
