C81 was a 24-song compilation cassette joint-released by Rough Trade and New Musical Express. (It was also the predecessor to the perhaps better-known C86 cassette compilation.) Participants included Scritti Politti, The Beat, Pere Ubu, Wah! Heat, Orange Juice, Cabaret Voltaire, D.A.F., Furious Pig, the Specials, the Buzzcocks, Essential Logic, Robert Wyatt, the Raincoats, Josef K, Blue Orchids, Virgin Prunes, Aztec Camera, Red Crayola, Linx, John Cooper Clarke, James Blood Ulmer, Ian Dury and Subway Sect. "Greener Grass" is exclusive to this compilation.
